Dabbing – Precision and Intensity for Concentrate Enthusiasts

What Is Dabbing?

Dabbing refers to vaporizing highly concentrated extracts—known as “dabs”—on a heated surface called a nail or banger. The result is a dense, flavorful vapor that delivers a stronger, more refined experience than traditional flower consumption.

Why Dab?

Concentrates offer exceptionally pure cannabinoid and terpene profiles. You need less material to achieve equal or greater potency, and the quick inhalation reduces exposure compared with prolonged combustion of herbs.

The Essential Gear

A standard dab setup includes a rig, nail/banger, carb cap, dab tool, and a torch or e-nail. Water filtration in glass rigs cools the vapor, while quality quartz or titanium bangers ensure even heat distribution.

Temperature Control – Unlocking Flavor

Overheating can burn terpenes and create harsh hits, while underheating leaves concentrate un-vaporized. The sweet spot is around 230–315 °C (450–600 °F), hot enough for full vaporization yet gentle enough to preserve flavor.

Safety & Maintenance

Always work on heat-resistant surfaces and let the banger cool slightly before dabbing. While still warm, clean it with a cotton swab dipped in isopropyl alcohol to prevent buildup and maintain a neutral taste.

Proper Storage for Concentrates

Keep wax, shatter, or live resin cool, dark, and sealed in silicone or glass containers to preserve consistency, potency, and terpene integrity.
